This policy explains how C4Cats handles information in its current MVP state and how optional analytics, advertising, affiliate, and newsletter features work when they are enabled.

Overview

C4Cats is currently a content-first platform with static and MDX-based pages. Data handling is intentionally limited and should stay proportional to the feature being used.

Information You Provide Directly

C4Cats may receive information you share directly, such as email messages sent through the contact channel or an email address submitted to a newsletter form.

Please avoid sending sensitive personal data or emergency veterinary case details.

Newsletter Email Storage

When newsletter signup is enabled, C4Cats may send your email address and signup context to Brevo so the email can be stored on the configured mailing list and used to send updates. If the required Brevo environment variables are not configured, the newsletter integration should not add you to a Brevo list.

Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, basic technical data may be processed by hosting and infrastructure providers, such as:

• IP address
• browser and device details
• request logs
• approximate performance and error information

Google Analytics

When Google Analytics 4 is enabled, Google may set analytics cookies or similar identifiers to help C4Cats understand aggregate site usage, such as page views, traffic sources, device categories, and general engagement. C4Cats should use this information to improve content clarity, site reliability, and navigation, not to collect emergency veterinary details.

If the Google Analytics environment variable is not set, C4Cats does not load the GA4 script from this implementation.

Google AdSense

When Google AdSense is enabled, Google may use advertising cookies or similar technologies to serve, limit, measure, and improve ads. Google may process information such as page context, device and browser signals, and ad interactions according to Google's own policies.

If the AdSense environment variable is not set, C4Cats does not load the AdSense script or render ad slots from this implementation.

Affiliate Links and Redirects

Some pages may include affiliate links that route through the C4Cats /go redirect path before sending you to an allowlisted merchant or partner. The redirect may include a partner key, source label, and partner-relative path so C4Cats can keep links organized and support future aggregate click measurement.

C4Cats does not use the redirect to send visitors to arbitrary user-provided URLs. For disclosure details, read Affiliate Disclosure.

Cookies and Local Storage

C4Cats may use cookies or local storage where required for core site behavior. Optional analytics and advertising cookies are only expected when the relevant third-party services are enabled.

Email and Contact Note

If you contact C4Cats by email, your message content and email address may be used to respond and maintain communication context.

How Information May Be Used

Information may be used to:

C4Cats aims to retain information only as needed for operational, support, security, newsletter, analytics, affiliate, or policy-related reasons. Retention practices should be reviewed as product complexity increases.

Third-Party Links

C4Cats pages may link to third-party sites, including merchants, affiliate partners, advertisers, or information sources. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and C4Cats does not control them.

Children's Privacy

C4Cats is not designed to intentionally collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact C4Cats so the request can be reviewed.

Security

Reasonable technical and operational measures are used to protect the website, but no internet system is risk-free. Users should avoid sharing unnecessary sensitive information.

User Choices

You can choose not to contact C4Cats, not to subscribe to a newsletter, and not to click affiliate links. Browser settings and third-party tools may also let you limit cookies or advertising identifiers.
